Projection: need to automatically qualify

Holy Cross's résumé is defined by a couple of modest highs and several damaging lows. The neutral-site victory over Hampton, the narrow road win at Fordham and the comfortable victory over Northeastern are the team's clearest positives, yet those results lack the heft of true signature road or neutral victories. By contrast, the heavy defeats on the nonconference trips to Providence, BYU and Utah and the additional setbacks at Brown, Sacred Heart and Siena have created a real margin for error. The Patriot League slate still gives Holy Cross the chance to repair that damage with a string of home opportunities against Loyola Maryland, Lafayette, Army and Boston University and with fate-defining road tests at Harvard and Colgate that would carry genuine committee value. To shift the narrative the Crusaders must stop accumulating avoidable losses and pick up meaningful wins away from home or at neutral sites.
